NDOW director named president

Terry Crawforth, director of the Nevada Department of Wildlife, has been elected president of the International Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies (IAFWA).

Crawforth will serve in his new position at IAFWA through 2005.

IAFWA develops, supports, and defends legislation and regulations that safeguard and improve the well being of North America's fish and wildlife. IAFWA represents every state fish and wildlife agency in the country.

The organization helps state fish and wildlife agencies to develop effective and complementary policies and regulations, and also participates in the development of international treaties and laws, regulations and policies concerning the welfare of North America's fish and wildlife.

Crawforth has participated in IAFWA for nearly 20 years, and has been an official state member for six years. He has served and chaired several IAFWA committees throughout his years of involvement. Crawforth is also an active member of the Western Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies (WAFWA).
